BLACK TEAS...Black Tea leaves are plucked, withered, rolled, cured and then fired. The full curing produces a black, fully oxidized leaf that yields a rich amber brew, assertive and robust, characterized by woody astringency with subtle floral notes. Stimulating and empowering black tea is one of the most widely consumed teas and has a long history of use dating back to China approximately 5,000 years ago. Tea aficionados covet black tea for its various purifying qualities and rich, exquisite taste.

GREEN TEAS...Green tea leaves are plucked, steamed, rolled and then fired (dried). The firing arrests the natural oxidation and enzymatic action that takes place in a freshly harvested tea leaf. The processing of green tea begins by spreading freshly plucked leaves out in pans or bamboo trays to dry. Once most of the water has evaporated from the leaves, they are quickly heated to prevent any fermentation from ruining the delicate leave. The process preserves the natural disease fighting antioxidants and vegetal flavors of the fresh leaf, capturing the essence of fresh mountain tea gardens. Green tea makes up approximately ten percent of the world’s tea.

HERBAL TEAS.....Our herbal infusions are exceptional blends using the freshest, Fair Trade, organically grown, herbs, flora, botanicals, plant based essential oils and spices, hand-crafted for their soothing and rejuvenating qualities. They also suit the needs of those who wish to avoid caffeine. The word “tea” is often loosely used to describe any beverage made with the leaves of a plant. But technically speaking, true “tea” is made only from the Camellia sinensis plant and all leaf-derived drinks other than true “tea” should be referred to as tisanes or herbal infusions.

WHITE TEAS....White tea is one of the highest-prized teas available, plucked only a few days each spring before the leaf opens. Revered by tea connoisseurs the silvery white, unopened leaf buds is the least processed of all teas. After careful plucking, the buds and leaves are naturally dried and withered in the clean mountain air to prevent any oxidation. The wilted leaves are then roasted until they lose 93-95% of their moisture content. Because the processing of white tea is simple and quick, the resulting tea has a pale color and delicate taste, yielding leaves that brew a sweet, mellow cup, low in caffeine and high in antioxidants.
